Bringing Relief Is Displaying Godly Endeavor

}}}}Network

The strength of the Bridge lies in the members of the group. The Bridge is “A band of Friends” committed to a like-minded cause. The majority of the people are from the IT & related fields, while the others are from banking institutions, educational institutes and manufacturing concerns. The idea is to bring the cause and the contributor (who feels answerable to a social conscience) together. The aim of "The Bridge” is to channelize any kind of help, be it money or effort, to the needy people of our society by acting as a Bridge between the people who want to help and the people who need help.

In the input side we collect funds through networking into friends’ circles and office colleagues where the friend acts as the guarantor of the bonafide cause. Subsequently the members are invited to the NGO sites where they feel first hand how they are actually making a difference and what more can be done to alleviate the condition of those who are not so fortunate.

}}}}Reviews

Time bound reviews are the hallmark of the Bridge way of making ends meet for the supported organisations. Each organisation is reviewed four times a year. The reviews are exhaustive and include all details ranging from finances to tangible and intangible assets. Apart from the formal review regimen, the Bridge keeps a tab on the proceedings through informal mechanisms like visits and sub- communities in the neighbourhood.

}}}}Visits

The visits are the heart and soul of all the Bridgers, for these are the avenues where the people come together with the inmates of the organizations supported. There is a visit every week and people attend based on proximity and time. Organized mostly on Sunday and holidays, Bridge visits over the past decade have always been a place where adrenaline rushes high with excitement and couple of hours are filled with exquisite happiness on both ends. The visits have also become platforms for clothes dissemination and food sponsorships.

}}}}Food

The Bridge also encourages the members to share their happiness amongst the inmates of the supported organisations on festive occasions through Food Sponsorship. These are carried out as either full day meals or timed meal sessions like breakfast, lunch or dinner. The inmates pray for the member prior to the event and thank for the kind gesture. The blessings of the elderly and the love of the kids go a long way in making the world a better one. Food sponsorships are usually done for Birthdays, Anniversaries, or any other special occasion for remembrance. The members are also encouraged to participate in the event and interact with the inmates.

}}}}Blood

Blood is the greatest gift that one can donate for another human being. The Bridge realises this responsibility and has initiated a campaign amongst its member base. This is to leverage the power of networking and associate it with timely access to blood donation needs. All bridge members are requested to register into a database and the needs are mailed to the mailing list. As of date, the success rate of finding a donor within the network has been close to 80%.

}}}}Shiksha

Being a group of committed professionals, Bridge realises the need for education and has made an immensely successful attempt at educational sponsorships for deserving candidates in the supported organisations. The sponsor gets periodic updates about the kid’s academic progress and the Bridge helps maintain a direct relationship between the person and kid through mediums like visits.
