Aatam Paatam Kondatam 2000

(An occasion to unearth hidden talents)

'Aatam Paatam Kondatamí is an event organised for the entertainment of the beneficiaries of the various welfare organisations & NGOs operating in and around Chennai. It was held on 17th December, 2000 at DAV Higher Secondary School, Mogappair, Chennai. A total of 18 welfare organisations participated in the event.

The entire event was divided into outdoor & indoor activities. The outdoor activities was held between 1.30 and 3.30pm. at the school grounds. About 10 stalls were put up for different games and activities. The participants just went around and enjoyed themselves playing the games.

The indoor entertainment part of the show started off at 4pm and went on till 7.30pm. This was held in the adjacent school auditorium. Sixteen out of the eighteen organisations went on stage to perform for the audience. These on-stage performances were the highlight of the evening. The talents of the participants really thrilled everyone. Other than the NGOs, the popular dance troup 'Solomon Twisters' entertained the audience.

The aim of this event is not to raise funds but to provide entertainment to the beneficiaries of NGOs, who can meet on a common platform, have fun and celebrate life with other members. The beneficiaries of welfare organizations donít usually get opportunities that other members of society enjoy especially when it comes to entertainment. We hope to fill this lacuna in their lives by organizing this programme which will also give them an opportunity to interact and exchange ideas with others of their

The audience for this event were mainly the beneficiaries of the various welfare organizations and a few others who are active in these circles. 'The Bridge' co-organised this event with 'The Nalmanam'.

All the participants thoroughly enjoyed the entire evening and went back home with a big smile on their faces.
